At our Farm Daycare, we believe that childhood should be a magical journey, filled with exploration, wonder, and a deep connection to nature. Nestled in the stunning Portuguese countryside, our daycare offers more than just a place to care for your child; it's a sanctuary where little hearts and minds can flourish.

    Each day from 9 AM to 1 PM, your child will embark on a playful adventure through nature. Our small groups ensure personalized attention, fostering a sense of safety and belonging. We explore the beauty of the farm, where children are free to run, discover, and connect with the world around them. Whether we’re playing in the fields, learning about plants and animals, or simply basking in the sunshine, every moment is an opportunity for growth and joy.

  • Meet Our Gentle Donkeys

    One of the highlights of our farm is our beloved donkeys. Gentle and friendly, they love spending time with the children. Interacting with these wonderful animals teaches kids empathy, patience, and kindness – all while sparking a sense of wonder and delight. It's not just a visit to the farm; it's an experience your child will cherish.

Our small, close-knit groups create a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe and cared for. With the freedom to explore, learn, and play at their own pace, your child will come home each day full of stories and smiles.

 FAQs

  • Children between 2-6 can join our daycare project.

  • Drop-off times are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Our groups are intentionally small, typically consisting of 3 to 8 children, to ensure a warm and engaging environment.

    After the children arrive, they enjoy free play to settle in and explore. This is followed by a morning circle where we sing songs and play instruments together, fostering a sense of community.

    Next, we share breakfast, creating a relaxed space for conversation and connection. Afterward, we head outdoors to engage with nature—feeding the animals, playing freely, painting, and participating in hands-on learning activities.

    As the session concludes, we gather to tidy up as a group and finish with a closing circle to say goodbye, bringing a sense of closure to the day.

  • In my childcare, we maintain a maximum of 6-8 children per two educators, ensuring a nurturing and personalized environment. We believe this creates a special place where each child receives the attention, care, and guidance they deserve, fostering their growth and well-being.

  • Little Farmers is a “non-academic” program. Instead, we are focusing on creating a rich and memorable childhood through good and beautiful experiences. We will be surrounding the child with rich oral language through songs, verses, and stories. We will not be covering the alphabet or teaching children to read or write. The main language is in English. But we are reading books and singing songs in Portuguese and German as well.

    Little Farmers is not following any specific direction. I have created my own vision which includes Montessori and Walldorf.  But we do not consider ourselves a “strictly” Waldorf program, and there will be portions of our program that do not adhere to typical Waldorf curriculums or philosophies, and we will remain flexible to Waldorf methods at our own discretion.

    For us it is important that we work in a holistic and mindful way with the children.

    We focus on:

    • awareness and attention to the present moment

    • intentionality and understanding of behavior

    • attitude — nonjudgmental, compassionate, accepting — in response
